Ingredients

¾ cup Kinnikinnick All Purpose Flour Blend (130 g)
½ cup cocoa powder (75 g)
½ tsp baking soda (1 g)
½ tsp salt (2 g)
½ cup margarine (140 g)
¾ cup granulated sugar (140 g)
½ cup brown sugar (105 g)
½ cup apple sauce (140 g)
1 tsp vanilla extract (5 g)
8 oz dark chocolate - chopped (225 g)
½ package Kinnikinnick Vanilla KinniTOOS® - coarsely chopped (110 g)
Optional: serve with whipped coconut cream and Kinnikinnick Chocolate KinniTOOS®

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F (176°C). Line a 9 x 13 pan with foil or parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine Kinnikinnick All Purpose Flour Blend, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Mix dry ingredients until combined and set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine sugars and margarine. Mix until combined.
  4. Add apple sauce and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.
  5. Slowly add dry ingredients mixing after each addition.
  6. Fold in chopped Chocolate and Vanilla KinniTOOS®. Mix just until combined.
  7. Pour batter into pan and spread evenly. 
  8. Bake in preheated oven for 28 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely before removing from pan.



Tips & Variations

  • Tin foil helps with easy removal from the pan.
  • Storage: Store in an air-tight container for 1 week or 3 months in the freezer.
