Bacon Brie Apple Grilled Cheese

Ingredients  

8 slices Kinnikinnick Whole Grain Bread (252 g)   
2 tbsp butter (30 g)
2 large apples - peeled/ cored/thinly sliced (248 g) 
8 slices of bacon - cooked/cut in half (188 g)                          
140 g brie - rind partially removed/ cut into slices 




Direction 

Apples

  1. Sauté sliced apples over medium heat in 1 tablespoon of butter.

  2. Cook until tender (approx. 7 - 10 minutes). Set aside. 


Assembly

  1. Preheat an electric griddle to 350°F (176°C) or a frying pan over medium heat.  

  2. Butter one side of 8 bread slices. On non-buttered side, top 4 pieces of bread with 2 slices of brie and a layer of sautéed apples.

  3. Top apples with 2 slices of cooked bacon.

  4. Place 2 additional slices of brie on top of bacon.

  5. Top with a slice of Kinnikinnick Whole Grain Bread (butter side out).

  6. Grill sandwiches on preheated griddle until golden brown and cheese melts. 

Makes 4 sandwiches
